Neutrogena healthy skin liquid makeup ♥

Yayyy I got a new camera so for now on i'll have better pics :)
SO
I know it has been a while since they have released this but I have to say it is my favorite drug store liquid foundation! I only have to wear about a dime size on my face and I get nice coverage.
It does have SPF 20 in it and most people avoid SPF because it makes your face shiny, but I do not have a problem with it at all AND I have oily skin.

Here's my face without the foundation... scary

And here's my skin with a dime size amount. (I know it looks orange but I promise it was the lighting)
I think the best thing I love about this product is that it is a great price $12 -Target AND it really does help your skin. I can definitely say my skin has became more even and more clear since I have been using this. It also has a great scent :D
I definitely recommend this!

My hair evolution ♥

The other day I was looking at old pics of myself and I couldn't believe how different my hair is compared to then! Then come to think of it, just the overall journey of my hair in the past 5 years! Here are some pics.

Starting in Jr. High, I chopped my hair from mid-back to chin length. (I'm wearing it in a pony tail)
sorry spazzy picture

Then about the middle of Jr. High, I decided I wanted to go lighter with my hair...

Then a year later I decided I wanted long luscious hair! So I gave hair extensions a try.

After a while of my hair fading, I then decided to put multiple caramel colors in my hair

Then I decided to dye it all one color, a brown, red-ish color (you can't tell as much in the pic)

When I found out I was pregnant with my son, I wanted to dye my hair back to my natural hair color so I wouldn't have to worry about my roots. After the 1st trimester I did so.

After I had my son, I had it with extensions! I took them out and let my hair fade to it's natural color.

A couple of months later, I was getting bored with my hair (of course) so I decided to put some blonde in it.

I would wear it curly or straight lol. (Not both at the same time, promise!)

When my son turned a year old, I then decided to dye my hair black! Something I have never done.

Then of course I wanted long hair AGAIN, so I threw some extensions in...

Rocked it for a while...

Then I took them back out before my daughter came :D

Now i'm just enjoying my natural hair length with no extensions! I also dyed it black with half red. I wonder what i'm going to want next... D:

Bad Hair Day???

I believe that EVERYONE can have a bad hair day. I have had so many it's ridiculous... sooo therefore I want to share with you guys some little tips and tricks that I use and read about to help those bad days turn into good ones :)

I think one of the main reasons why people have bad hair days is because... their hair isn't washed!
Because I have frizzy, curly hair, I can only wash my hair so much in one week (about 2-3 times a week) It sounds gross but it works best for me! Otherwise i'm walkin around with Willy Wonka hair...

What I do when my roots are not lookin so clean:
  • Baby Powder! -baby powder helps soak up unwanted oils in your hair, but won't completely strip out all the good ones your hair needs. What I do is apply a small amount to a brush and brush it through the roots. Another plus is that it gives you a little bit of volume. A celeb I read about that uses this trick is Rihanna!
  • Avoid using too much of a product at the roots that will make your hair look greasy such as serums and leave in conditioners.
  • Use a dry shampoo--- I have not used dry shampoo before but definitely want to give it a try. What it does is cleans your hair up; like takes out excess oils, gives your hair some volume, helps your color last long, and can also help a blowout last 3 times longer! Here are some from Sally's...
  • and lastly... just wash your hair, if you can handle washing your hair more than 3 times a week, please do so :D♥
Other things that can cause bad hair!
  • Not having your split ends trimmed- as you may know, this can make your hair look frizzy and dry. Make sure you get your hair trimmed regularly for beautiful healthy hair.
  • No time for a trim? Use a small amount of Vaseline at the ends to help calm down hair.
  • Use a wide comb to untangle hair.
  • Too much heat! Give your hair a break every once in a while :)
  • Dry, frizzy hair? A leave in conditioner may be necessary.
♥How to style♥
If I am having a bad hair day, I lean more towards an up-do to hide everything. Usually something with a braid, head band or even a cute hat. Here is one I recently did.
I also found a few pics of cute hair styles to hide a bad hair day...

Well I hope this helped :)

Face/ Hair of the day ♥

SO I have a face/ hair of the day for you guys :) Yes, I know my face looks swollen but it is because I am 37 weeks preggers now and having a c-section less than 2 weeks! AND yes my pictures suck because I currently do not have a camera, just my BB camera so excuse the pics. ANYWAYS... today I decided to do kinda like a holiday look. It's a maroon-ish, gold-ish look.
Face
I'm using all E.l.f. shadows on my eyes, with E.l.f. eye shadow primer
Cheeks: E.l.f. Contouring Blush & Bronzer
Lips: Wet n Wild Mega Last lipstick in pink suga
& Bonnebell Lip Lites in Carmel Latte
Lashes: ebay lashes!

This is on of E.l.f.'s eye shadow palette's. I used #1 all over my eyelid, the #2 in my crease brought half way up my brow bone...

Next I used E.l.f.'s 32 piece eye shadow palette. I put #3 all into my crease, #4 into the outer V, and #5 under my brow as a highlight.

Then I applied cream, black eye liner, mascara, and these lashes I reviewed a while ago from Hong Kong...

Hair

For my hair I first used Garnier Fructis sleek & shine hair serum
and spiral curled my hair in one direction using Aussie's volume hair spray as I curled.
I took out my 18" extensions because now I FINALLY feel comfortable with my hair length after growing it for about 5 years! (my hair grows soooo slow)

Well I hope you enjoyed :)

When to throw it out...

Recently I have been wanting to know about cosmetic expiration dates. But of course, cosmetics do not come with an expiration date so I decided to look into myself. I found out soooo many useful tips and facts!

So while researching I found out the average "life span" of cosmetics products. Some I was shocked to find out about and others not so much. Here's what I found:

  • Mascara- 2-3 months. Mascara has the least amount of time to use and is the most common cosmetic product to cause infection; such as pink eye. To help prevent infections, do not pump your mascara. This forces air into the tube and make more bacteria. Also do not add water to extend mascara life. Like air, water is a perfect ingredient to make bacteria in your product.

  • Eye & Lip pencils- 1 year. Yes, they do last a about a year, but make sure you sharpen at least once a week to get rid of bacteria. Also, if it is crumbling or easily breaking off, it's time to toss it.

  • Lip gloss & Lipstick- 1 year.

  • Powders- 1 year. This includes eyeshadow and blush. Remember that these usually get used with brushes so make sure that brushes are washed.

  • Liquid Foundation- 3-6 months (add +1 month if cream foundation)

  • Concealer- 6-8 months.

Still not sure if it has expired??? Heres some clues it's time to throw it out...
  • Bad smell
  • Change in color
  • Different texture
Here are some other tips.
  • Store your cosmetics in dry, cool areas. Bacteria loves to grow in warm, moisturized places.
  • Use common sense with hygiene! Always wash hands before and after using a product. Also do not have finger tips come in direct contact with product.
  • Wash brushes- natural, once a month and synthetic, 2-3 times a month.
  • Wash tools after use such as a sponge.
  • DO NOT SHARE MAKEUP! This causes germs and bacteria to grow faster AND you never know what the other person is carrying. Which leads to...
  • Be careful at makeup counters. Use all the tools provided.
SO some of this is common sense but to me, most of it was new. I am definitely going through my makeup tonight! Hope this helped :)

What all can Vaseline do???

So the other day I was watching re-runs of Americas Next Top Model, and Tyra was using only using Vaseline on the models at a photo shoot. I also remembered how my Grandma would whip out her Vaseline for us grandkids if we had chapped lips. It got me thinking about what all could Vaseline do for you??? I decided to do a little research and see what other people would use theirs for and this is what I found...

1. Use at the ends of your hair to smooth down split ends

2. Apply on eyelashes overnight and overtime your eyelashes will become more thicker, longer, and healthier.

3. Use on elbows and knees to get rid of ruff, dry skin.

4. Apply on feet over night, then cover with socks and wake up to softer feet :)

5. Makeup remover

6. Helps tame crazy eyebrow hairs

7. Remove makeup stains from clothing

8. Use as a lip balm or apply on lips before using lipstick/ lip liner.

9. Mix Vaseline and sea salts to make a nice scrub.

10. Helps heal new tattoo's

11. Use as a eyeshadow base

12. Help protect cuticles

13. Use on skin after shaving to help soothe razor burn

14. Helps ease off stuck rings

15. Scrunched into hair for a textured look.

16. Rub over old nail polish and make your nails look freshly painted.

17. Rub evenly on to skin before applying self tanning products for a even tan.

18. Helps perfume last longer if applied to sprayed areas

19. Helps prevent wind burn

20. Can be used on the necks of nail polish bottles for easy lid removal

21. And my favorite, use with under eye concealer for a long lasting creamy look.

Now that I found more uses for my Vaseline I am definitely going to be using it more :)

My e.l.f. Favorites ♥

e.l.f. has always been one of my favorite cosmetic brands because they have good quality makeup for cheeaaaapp! Most of their products range from $1- $3!!! To me that is amazing because I can get so many items and on top of that, their website has some kind of deal going just about every week. So I wanted to share with you guys my favorite e.l.f. products right now...

My first FAV is their Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder $3

As you can see, I have already used this a ton! It works so well and many people compare it to Nars Multiple duo in Orgasm/South Beach which retails for $45. e.l.f. on the other hand, retails for only $3

Next is their Studio eyebrow kit $3- Medium

This is what I use on my eyebrows everyday. On the right is a wax in a dark brown and on the left is a lighter colored powder to set the wax. The only thing that I don't like about this is that if you don't set the wax with the powder then it wears off (but that is kind of expected :/

Third is e.l.f.s Studio Cream Eyeliner $3- Black

I love this! It goes on dark, creamy and does not pull on your skin. It also comes with a small angled eyeliner brush. This comes in a few more colors.

My fourth fav is e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer $3- Sheer
So I have heard so many good things about this eyeshadow primer that I had to try it for myself. Many people compare it to MAC'S Prep + Prime -$16.50 It is super creamy, blends well, and most importantly holds your eyeshadow in place all day. I do not use mineral eyeshadow so I was worried if this would even work for me or not, but it works wonderful with pressed eyeshadow's.

Last is e.l.f.s Essentials Eye Shadow Palette Limited Edition $3-Natural Eyeshadow
(I'm using all of the shadows except the first row first 2)
If you like to use shimmer eyeshadow, then you'll love this one. I love natural colored eyeshadow AND shimmer so I had to get this. It goes on great! This works soo good with the e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer as well.

If you have not tried any e.l.f's cosmetics yet, YOU NEED TO! You can buy some of their products at Target (depends on what target you go to) But your best bet would be to order from their website
