REVIEW: Queen Helene The Orignal Mint Julep Masque

Hey ladies! I have another review for you guys today, it's the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque.
First of all I have never heard of this EVER! Until my husband picked this up at Walgreens about a month and a half ago for $5.99. So I decided to look it up on blogs and Youtube and I found that everyone was raving about this product so I was super happy to try it out.

First Impression:
It comes in an 8oz. bottle (I'm not sure if it comes in any other sizes) It has a screw on cap and it standsup up with the opening on the bottom. The opening is pretty big as well so you can get a lot of product out. The masque smelt A-MAZING! It's a minty smell but it's not over powering. The texture of it was smooth, it wasn't lumpy or bumpy and the color of it is light green.

What it claims:

The directions/ ingredients:

My skin type, I consider to be is combanation/ oily. I don't have a lot of acne  (but I do when it's that time of the month >:( ) I have a LOT of black heads on my nose and I have large pores where most people tend to get them, your upper cheeks right under your eyes.

So I applied it as directed (evenly) through out my face. I noticed that it dried up really fast and leaving your skin feeling fresh and tight. I decided to leave it on for 15 minutes first to see how it worked  and once I washed it off my skin already seemed refreshed and healthy. I noticed that it does shrink your pores instantly but as far as acne and black heads it would take time.
The next day, I decided to leave it on over night to see how that would work. Once and again I applied it as directed. After about a half hour the smell of mint went away and a almost burnt rubber smell started to appear! It is not soooo noticeable that you wanted to take it off (plus your going to be sleeping right? lol ) but it was a complete change from the mint. The next morning I woke up and I noticed a pimple I had on the side of my cheek increasing in redness and size and throughout the week I noticed my black-heads disappearing!

Pros: It does what it says! Smells great if you love minty smells, leaves skin feeling refreshed and soft.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is it clogs up in the tube so you have to smash it around in the tube before applying sometimes, it smells like burnt rubber and that it can sting your open skin; such as scratches.

Overall I love this product and yes I will buy it again! It comes with a lot of product so I probably won't have to be buying more anytime soon though.
Have any of you tried this? Do you ladies like it?

Thanks for reading!

XOXO Shayla

Looking for a Summer Foundation???

I just wanted to share with you guys what liquid foundation I am using this summer!

Maybelline Fit Me!

I know that this face line from maybelline has been reviewed countless times, but I just recently purchused the liquid foundation and I wanted to let you guys know my thoughts on this product. I would also like to hear your opinions if you guys have tried this line!

It was about time for me to get a new foundation because now since it's summer here in Utah, I have been getting more of tan. I tan really easy so it is a hassel to find a new foundation/foundation color every summer or when winter hits and my tan has fadded.
I always buy drug store foundation, my top 2 favorites I have been using was Neutrogena Liquid foundation, and Loreals colorstay (which I have been using since highschool). I have been very pleased with both of them but I have been wanting to try something new. I recently have been using Color Stay by loreal and I love it because it has great coverage and it has many shades to choose from, but I do not like useing it in summer. I can litterally feel it melting off my face :S and it seems to clog my pores a lot more than when I use it in the cooler seasons. Because of that I wanted a foundation that was light weight for summer, blendable, wouldn't make me look cakey, had SPF and woudn't clog my pores! I was also looking for a great quality with a cheaper price (who doesn't) so I decided to try the Fit Me liquid foundation.

First off, there are so many shades! I'm not sure about other stores, but Wal-marts Fit Me section organized their makeup with signs that show what color shade fits your best; light, medium, and dark (I belive) my shade 315 was in the darkest section. They also show concelar, powder, blush and bronzer that goes well with your shade. The packaging is so proffesional looking, I love it! It comes in a 1oz.  bottle that is trasparent, rectangular and has a black top. The shade number is printed large on the front of the bottle in a cute way along with it saying SPF 18.

What product claims on the back of foundation: Matches natural skin tone, Blends seamlessly, Lets skin breathe. And on their web site: It's makeup that fits you.
  • No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
  • Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural
  • Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through
  • Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested

How I applied this was with a foundation brush. I usually use sponges but I find that sponges soak up to much of the foundation with application. I emptied a small amount of the back of my hand and dabed some on to my foundation brush. I applied on my face doing sections  at a time. While applying I noticed that it blended very well and didn't dry up to fast. I also noticed that you can build your coverage which I am super happy about because some days I don't want too much coverage but others (like if I'm going out) I want more. The shade matched my skin tone great and leaving it nice and soft. Even my sis-in-law tried a little amount and it fit her skin tone great AND she has a lighter skin tone than me!
After wearing it for a couple hours, I didn't notice any coming off. Keep in mind that I am a mother of two children 2 and under that I am constantly moving around and playing with so I tend to have my makeup smudge off more. The coverage was still the same and it was very breathable when I went outside with my kids (100 degree weather)
I also went to the pool with this and laid out in the sun and it didn't melt off of my face, a huge plus for me!!!  By the end of the day I did notice some smudge off along my jaw line.

One thing I did noticed that I don't like about it is that it tends to pool up in your creases after a few hours (like my nose) It's gross but it leaves my nose looking shiny and oily :/ So if you have oily skin, I wouldn't recommend it. I also feel like I always have to use a powder to set it which can be a hassle at times.

 Poured onto hand
 Lightly blended in
Blended

OVER ALL
Pros: breathable, light weight, builds coverage, doesn't clog my pores, many shades to choose from, cute bottle, wide lid, SPF 18, Fit Me has other products to go along with your shade

Cons: Makes you look shiny, pools up in creases, not recommended for oily skin.

Have you girls tried any products from the Fit Me line???
How did you guys feel about it???

Review: Hard Candy Glamoflauge-Heavy Duty Concealer

K so first I just want to say, I am a mom who has gotten really dark circles under my eyes after having my kids. I am constantly looking for a good concealer to cover them up! I have heard WAY to many good things about Hard Candy Glamoflauge-Heavy Duty Concealer so I had to try it myself. I bought it in light 312. It comes in a 0.71 oz tube and also included a concealer "pen" pencil for $6.00 at Wal-Mart.
.As you can see I used a small amount to cover my whole wrist and somewhat into my hand and arm.

Here's the pencil.

Now for the eyes, it's like seriously night and day! : O

MY opinion on the product: I love it! I do not buy department store makeup, but this is seriously the best concealer I have used so far out of all the drug store makeup brands. It had great coverage, comes in decent colors for every skin tone, great price, comes in a large tube, a little bit goes a long way, and stays on almost all day long. Some cons were it creased a little bit, (not to the point were it's unbearable or annoying, easy to fix) if you apply too much, it looks cakey and I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but it is kinda hard to remove.
Would I buy this again? Yes! I love it that much. I have been using it everyday  for almost 3 weeks now and once I run out (which probably won't be a while)

UPDATE: Sorry for not posting the colors it comes in!
It comes in light, medium, and tan.
