I just wanted to share with you guys what liquid foundation I am using this summer!
Maybelline Fit Me!
I know that this face line from maybelline has been reviewed countless times, but I just recently purchused the liquid foundation and I wanted to let you guys know my thoughts on this product. I would also like to hear your opinions if you guys have tried this line!
It was about time for me to get a new foundation because now since it's summer here in Utah, I have been getting more of tan. I tan really easy so it is a hassel to find a new foundation/foundation color every summer or when winter hits and my tan has fadded.
I always buy drug store foundation, my top 2 favorites I have been using was Neutrogena Liquid foundation, and Loreals colorstay (which I have been using since highschool). I have been very pleased with both of them but I have been wanting to try something new. I recently have been using Color Stay by loreal and I love it because it has great coverage and it has many shades to choose from, but I do not like useing it in summer. I can litterally feel it melting off my face :S and it seems to clog my pores a lot more than when I use it in the cooler seasons. Because of that I wanted a foundation that was light weight for summer, blendable, wouldn't make me look cakey, had SPF and woudn't clog my pores! I was also looking for a great quality with a cheaper price (who doesn't) so I decided to try the Fit Me liquid foundation.
First off, there are so many shades! I'm not sure about other stores, but Wal-marts Fit Me section organized their makeup with signs that show what color shade fits your best; light, medium, and dark (I belive) my shade 315 was in the darkest section. They also show concelar, powder, blush and bronzer that goes well with your shade. The packaging is so proffesional looking, I love it! It comes in a 1oz. bottle that is trasparent, rectangular and has a black top. The shade number is printed large on the front of the bottle in a cute way along with it saying SPF 18.
What product claims on the back of foundation: Matches natural skin tone, Blends seamlessly, Lets skin breathe. And on their web site: It's makeup that fits you.
- No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
- Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural
- Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through
- Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested
How I applied this was with a foundation brush. I usually use sponges but I find that sponges soak up to much of the foundation with application. I emptied a small amount of the back of my hand and dabed some on to my foundation brush. I applied on my face doing sections at a time. While applying I noticed that it blended very well and didn't dry up to fast. I also noticed that you can build your coverage which I am super happy about because some days I don't want too much coverage but others (like if I'm going out) I want more. The shade matched my skin tone great and leaving it nice and soft. Even my sis-in-law tried a little amount and it fit her skin tone great AND she has a lighter skin tone than me!
After wearing it for a couple hours, I didn't notice any coming off. Keep in mind that I am a mother of two children 2 and under that I am constantly moving around and playing with so I tend to have my makeup smudge off more. The coverage was still the same and it was very breathable when I went outside with my kids (100 degree weather)
I also went to the pool with this and laid out in the sun and it didn't melt off of my face, a huge plus for me!!! By the end of the day I did notice some smudge off along my jaw line.
One thing I did noticed that I don't like about it is that it tends to pool up in your creases after a few hours (like my nose) It's gross but it leaves my nose looking shiny and oily :/ So if you have oily skin, I wouldn't recommend it. I also feel like I always have to use a powder to set it which can be a hassle at times.

Pros: breathable, light weight, builds coverage, doesn't clog my pores, many shades to choose from, cute bottle, wide lid, SPF 18, Fit Me has other products to go along with your shade
Cons: Makes you look shiny, pools up in creases, not recommended for oily skin.
Have you girls tried any products from the Fit Me line???
How did you guys feel about it???

That's the foundation I use =)
I recently purchased this foundation and I love it. I apply it with my studio tools foundation brush. I also noticed that it's oily, but I just use the fit me powder to set the foundation.
p.s. LOVE YOUR BLOG
Seems like it'd be better for dry skin. :) I don't buy maybelline products though because they test on animals!
